Inclusive images facilitated our first eight-week Community Action Photovoice project with the Bonhill Community Garden Group. Working in partnership with the Leamy Foundation, the group met once a week for eight weeks.
“Really enjoyed the workshops, it has given me more confidence to help my community”
Each week the group learned a new photography composition technique and discussed local issues and plans for the future.
“Great Sessions – Both for photography and for getting to know new people”
The eight week project culminated in a photography exhibition held in the Bonhill Community Centre, this was attended by members of the community, the local press and all the participants. There was an award ceremony in acknowledge the time and hard work the participants put in to putting the whole thing together.
“ Getting to see my community in a different light due to attending the sessions. Great fun and learning all the time. Thanks Charlie and Michael, as well as all of the other participants.”
The gallery below shows the final images chosen by the participants – the titles are quotes gathered across the eight weeks.
The Bonhill Community Garden group have since formed a committee for the garden and meet every week to shape what the future will look like for the community, and encourage others to get involved. You can find out more by heading over to their facebook page.
