Picturing Our Past

Inclusive Images are most grateful to the National Lottery Heritage Fund (Scotland) for their £99,000 three year funding of our ‘Picturing Our Past’ project

The project will encourage those who have had little or no chance to access Scotland’s heritage, to gain a better understanding of their roots and how history shapes us.

We will work with 11 community organisations from socially deprived areas who support people from a range of commonly excluded backgrounds with a particular focus on disabled people in these communities.

Using participatory photography workshops and heritage photo walks we will raise awareness of, and interest in, places of local historic significance and iconic heritage sites.

Working in partnership with local historians, cultural and heritage organisations, participants will be provided with accurate and engaging historical information, join discussions about their local heritage and be supported to discover and photograph it.
